Second Chance
Learning:
Second chance learning is an opportunity for students to demonstrate mastery of a topic after it was initially assessed. Students are always encouraged to take advantage of second chance opportunities, but should remember that second chance learning does not always mean second chance grading!
Second chance learning is an opportunity for students to demonstrate mastery of a topic after it was initially assessed. Students are always encouraged to take advantage of second chance opportunities, but should remember that second chance learning does not always mean second chance grading!
- Will be provided on ALL graded homework and
classwork assignments.
- Students are
expected to redo ALL work that they do not receive 100% on and resubmit the
corrected work within one week to the “makeup” bin located in the classroom.
- Grade may be
raised to reflect new level of understanding.
- Please DO
NOT erase any original answers, instead write in different color or on separate
paper.
- Points
deducted for an assignment being late cannot be recovered.
- Students are

- Will be provided on ALL summative quizzes via end of
quarter test.
- Students who
score higher on the test than the average of the quarter’s quizzes will have quiz
grades raised to reflect new understanding demonstrated.
- If a student
earns 85% on the end of quarter test and had a 75% quiz average, points will be
added to raise the quiz average to 85%.
- If a student
earns 85% on the end of quarter test and had a 90% quiz average, the quiz
average will remain the same.
- Students who
score higher on the test than the average of the quarter’s quizzes will have quiz
grades raised to reflect new understanding demonstrated.
- Will NOT be provided for any summative projects.

projects have specific guidelines and expectations.

not understand.
